The compensator is integral to the barrel which the front sight is mounted to. A typical slide would have the front sight mounted to it and move as you fire. To enhance sight acquisition, the TAP mounts the sight to the barrel/compensator instead. As you fire, the slide will move and the front sight will stay stationary, giving you the fastest acquisition and give you an easier time finding your sight picture in rapid shooting. The new generation of TAP pistols now combines the compensator and barrel to be one unit and the grip texture has been revised based on player feedback.
