A sniper hop-up unit is the chamber in a bolt-action or DMR platform, and it is the most model-proprietary hop-up part in airsoft. Silverback SRS, HTI and TAC-41, the VSR-10 family, Action Army AS01, Maxx SRE and SRG housings and the WELL Type 96 all use their own units, and almost none of them cross over. On several platforms the unit is also handed, so a left-hand and a right-hand version exist and are not interchangeable. Match the exact model and the hand before anything else.

Fitment notes & exceptions
- Handed units are common: Several sniper platforms, including the Silverback SRS and the Maxx SRE and SRG housings, are sold in left-hand and right-hand versions. The two are mirror parts and will not fit the opposite receiver. Check the hand of your rifle before ordering, because this is the single most common wrong-part mistake on this page.
- Almost nothing interchanges: A VSR-10 unit, a Silverback SRS unit, an Action Army AS01 unit and a WELL Type 96 unit are four different parts. Even within one brand a change of generation can change the chamber. Buy the unit listed for your exact rifle rather than for the class of rifle.
- Chamber, housing and full set are different products: Listings on bolt-action platforms mix three things: the bare chamber, the housing that carries it, and a complete set with the bucking and arm. They are not substitutes for each other. Read the title carefully so you do not buy a housing when you needed the chamber.

How to pick the right sniper hop-up unit
Identify the exact platform first: Silverback SRS A1 or A2, HTI, TAC-41, VSR-10 or a VSR clone, Action Army AS01 or AS02 Striker, Maxx SRE or SRG, Modify Mod24, WELL Type 96 or AWP. Then confirm the hand of the rifle where the platform offers both. Only after that should you compare the mechanism and the material.
Why the unit matters on a bolt action
A bolt-action rifle fires one carefully placed shot at a time, so hop consistency is the whole point of the platform. A chamber that lets the bucking shift, or an adjuster that drifts under recoil, shows up immediately as a flier. A rigid, well machined unit with a precise adjuster is the highest-value accuracy part on a sniper build.

No. The VSR-10 and the Silverback SRS use completely different hop-up units. Buy the unit listed for your exact rifle. Sniper hop-up units are the least interchangeable hop-up parts in airsoft.
What does left-hand or right-hand mean on a sniper hop-up unit?
