About Airsoft Umarex (VFC) Glock 19 Gen 5 In August 2017, Glock introduced the fifth-generation or "Gen5" Glock 17 to the real steel market, focusing on ergonomic improvements and enhanced reliability. Many parts of the fifth-generation Glock pistols are not interchangeable with those of previous generations. The initial release included the Glock 17 and Glock 19 models, both chambered for 9x19 mm Parabellum cartridges. The Gen5 models showcased several noticeable changes, such as ambidextrous slide stop levers, a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) surface finish on the barrel and slide, a revised Glock Marksman Barrel with polygonal rifling, a deeper recessed barrel crown, the removal of finger grooves on the grip, a flared magazine well, and the reintroduction of a half-moon-shaped cutout on the grip's bottom front. The locking block pin found above the trigger pin in the third generation was omitted. While many internal components underwent less conspicuous revisions, the slide of the fifth-generation pistols is roll-marked with "Gen 5" alongside the model number for easy identification. The magazines for the Gen5 models also underwent redesign, featuring frontward protruding lip floor plates for improved grip during manual extraction and orange-colored followers for visual identification.
