“Listings tracked” counts individual retailer listings. Because the same part is often sold by several retailers, one physical part can appear as multiple listings, which is exactly what lets us compare prices across stores. Complete guns and uncategorized items are excluded so the index reflects parts only.

Go beyond the averages

Want the price history of a specific part?

The index above shows what each category typically costs. To follow an individual part — its full cross-retailer price history, whether it’s a good deal right now, and an alert the moment the price drops — add it to a watchlist. • Price history charts for any part, across every retailer.
  • Price-drop alerts so you never miss a deal on a part you want.
  • Deal score & best time to buy so you know when a price is actually good.

Methodology

  • Median, not average. Each figure is the median price of all valid listings in a category. The median is the middle value, so a few mispriced or bundle listings cannot distort it the way a simple average would.
  • Typical range. The range shows the 25th to 75th percentile, the band that the middle half of listings fall within.
  • Cross-retailer. Prices are aggregated from 55+ retailers, so the index reflects the real market rather than any single store.
  • Outlier handling. Listings priced at $0 or above $100,000 (obvious data errors) are excluded. Categories with very few listings are omitted.
  • Live. Figures are recomputed from the current catalog on every visit, so they track the latest prices. Cite the month shown above.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Airsoft Parts Price Index?

The Airsoft Parts Price Index is a free, regularly updated dataset that tracks the real market price of airsoft parts across 55+ retailers. For each parts category it publishes the typical (median) price and the typical price range, calculated from live listings on Airsoft Upgrades.

How is the airsoft parts price index calculated?

For every category we take all in-catalog listings with a valid price and compute the median (the middle price, so a handful of unusually cheap or expensive listings cannot skew it) plus the 25th and 75th percentiles, which together describe the typical price range. Obvious data errors above $100,000 are excluded. Medians and percentiles are used instead of a simple average because they are far more robust to mispriced or outlier listings.

How often is the price index updated?

The numbers are computed live from the current catalog every time the page loads, so they reflect the latest tracked prices. We recommend citing the month and year shown at the top of the page.

Why use the median instead of the average price?

Airsoft parts listings occasionally contain mispriced or bundle items that would distort a simple average. The median (the middle value) and the interquartile range give a far more honest picture of what a part in each category actually costs.

Can I cite or use this data?

Yes. The Airsoft Parts Price Index is free to reference and cite. Please attribute it to Airsoft Upgrades (airsoftupgrades.com) and link back to this page so readers can see the latest figures.
